Thanks for visiting my blog.

Het zou leuk zijn wanneer je een berichtje achterlaat. :-)
I would appreciate a little message. :-)

Hierbij wil ik Petra bedanken want dankzij haar geweldige site,
www.poohbeers.eigenstart.nl, ben ik met de bouw van mijn poppenhuis begonnen.

Thanks to Petra. Without her nice site, www.poohbeers.eigenstart.nl, I would never been started with my doll house.

Ik probeer de dingen die ik maak zo goed mogelijk te omschrijven maar er kunnen soms typefoutjes in de tekst staan dus controleer van te voren even of het allemaal klopt.

The thing I create I put on my blog. Although I try to make no mistakes it's possible that something went wrong so please check before you make a copy.

How to cut the veneer on correct size.

When you need a lot of pieces of veneer in the same length it's easy to use this self made thing. It's adjustable.

On this wooden board we place the cutter.

Then you put the veneer on the cutter and cut it on the right length.

This way you can cut a lot of veneer.

Louvre parquet floor 1:12 still goes on.

Start in the middle of the square.

Cut the veneer that makes it easier when you want to work at the parquet.

Still a long way to go.

Continuation of the parquet floor.

Each square takes one hour to make it.

Start in the middle of the square. That gives the nicest results.

With this sciccors it's easy to cut bevel.

We made a cut in the cardboard where the stair is placed. So we glue the floor around that area. When we didn't do that then the wall was placed upon the cardboard and the walls and ceiling didn't fit anymore.
We glue the floor on cardboard because we want to put electricity in the dollhouse and so we can put the wiring beneath the cardboard. It's also easier to work this way because you can put the cardboard anywhere you want.

When you work  this way you get a nice floor even in the edges.

Will be continued and when you have a question or tip...we love to hear it.

The parquet floor

The beginning of the parquet floor is started.

The first parts of veneer are glued down on the cardboard. First we glue the border and then we fill it in from the middle to the border.
This is the best way to do.
I'll put pictures of the progress on my blog.

At the moment I can regroup my hobby space. Everything was put into boxes because my son had his birthday party in this part of the house. So all my hobby stuff had to be stored in the bedroom. Now I can take all my materials and tools out of the boxes and start with my hobby again.I didn't produce much lately but I hope that's going to change now.  First I'm going to unpack.

Christmas cookies 1:12

In Rothenburg ob der Tauber I bought some forms to make cookies. So I tried.
I started with the dough.

Fimo clay number 7 ...... 1 part
Fimo clay number 014 .. 1/4 part
Fimo clay number 0 ...... 1/8 part

I put it in the paste machine first on 7. Then I fold the clay together again and trough the machine.
I've done that several times until the clay is mixed together well.
Then the machine on 5.

Now I put the form on the clay and I  can produce some cookies.

Then I have to glze them. It's a mixture of Fimo liquid and the color Fimo you like. So I put number 0 Fimo clay together with the liquid Fimo.
To glaze the candle and yellow Fimo for the flame.

I have to practice because the glaze isn't perfect and the dough needs some improvement also.
When I'm very patient I'm gonna try it again because they are so little.

As promised

During our holiday at Rothenburg ob der Tauber I bought a fish-service. I promised to make a picture of it.
Here is my Reutter Porcelain from Germany.

I also bought three Christmas items in Rothenburg. Moulds to make Christmas cookies.

We're back from our trip to Portugal. During our stay in Portugal we went to our favourite store. They sell typical Portuguese products. Also crockery. So you guess....I bought myself a souvenir for my doll house   that's still in the box.

I like to put these pots on the veranda of my doll house.

We drove three days to Portugal and three days back. We traveled through Spain and had to take a rest. Lucky me it was a resting place with a pottery shop. I think you already know what happened. I became greedy. They sold nice little pottery also.

Building the doll house will start in January I hope. We're still busy with the inheritance because it's a bit complicated. Then the month November is busy with birthdays of my son and myself. My working area will be the party place for my son so we must reorganize every thing. Then the month December we're busy with Sinterklaas. That is a Dutch version of Santa Claus. We make surprises for one person so that takes some time also and then Christmas time. So the building of the doll house has to wait till January. When I create something I put it in my blog. When you're a follower you can see when something new is in the blog. Thanks to you all that visit my blog.

Holiday Rothenburg ob der Tauber Germany.

We've spent our holiday in Rothenburg ob der Tauber and there was a museum with toys. But most important there were several doll houses.

It was a small museum but it had toys and doll houses from different ages. I would like to buy a Christmas dinner service. But they didn't have one. So I bought a fish service.
The building of my doll house has stopped for a while because my father in law died and he lives in Portugal so we have to spent some time to bring his last will to a good end.

I have seen enough oranges.

Which project I'll start right now I don't know. The parquet floor is still waiting to be finished but my husband didn't have time to draw the pattern down for me. So I have to wait till he's ready for it.

So here's the mess the guys left me after picking the oranges.....;-)

More oranges because I have to fill the box.

These are oranges with only the orange color of the peel and I didn't use the orange-bar. When you cut these oranges in two they're just orange.

I used sandpaper to make the peel look as realistic as possible.

Now I put the leaves on top of the orange.

Ready to bake in the oven 120 degree Fahrenheit for 30 minutes.

I also had some magnets and I put some oranges and juicer on it so I can put that on the magnetic board.

I glued all the attributes on the chopping board. And the chopping board on the magnet.
