Grandfather clock finished.

First a warm welcome to the new followers.

Upstairs my own house is a mess. The garden is in a perfect state. Let the sun shine !

My dollhouse is duck taped and waiting for my hobby space to be ready. Meanwhile I still want to produce things to put into the doll house.

The clock is finished and I'm proud to present it.

You can leave the door open so you can see the regulator and the weights.

When you look sharp you can see the little knob that's on the middle of the door for opening.

It is unfortunate that the clock does not really work.
We had to decide what was the perfect time for the pointers. So Frans glued them on this time. It's not a special time but we thought this was the  best location.

With this clock I will be able to produce a real working clock some day.

Wax my grandfather clock 1:12

Time flies. It slips through my fingers. The bedroom of my son is almost empty. Then we can reorganize the room.
But the last few days we had another problem that needs to be solved immediately.

There was a little wild rabbit hiding in our garden. It was eating from my plants.
That I couldn't tolerate. But what is the best way to get it out of the garden.
When we went outside it ran away and was hiding under plants. Today Frans took out the water hose.
The rabbit didn't like the water that was running down his hiding place. So he took of.
Frans  barricaded the back of the garden to prevent the rabbit from coming back. There has to be finer netting in the back of the garden. This problem must be solved before working on my hobby space.

A few weeks ago we went to Eindhoven to a shop with miniatures. I got a gift coupon that I could spent at Verspaget.
There was a kit with a Simon Willard tall case clock with dial and pendulum 180 x 50 x 30 mm.

I love this clock. So I bought it with the coupon.

I couldn't wait to unpack it. It's from Mini Mundus and the first kit I bought. It's not complicated to build it up.

So far so good. First we had to paint the clock. I like to use cherry stain. We had some left over stain from our kitchen so we can use that for the clock.

Next thing I want to do is putting wax on the stain. I like wax because I think that fits into the time.
But what is the easiest way to put the wax on to these small parts? I have to give it a good rub.

Humm...I'm rather lazy than tired.

Aha !! The electric toothbrush.

I collect the worn toothbrushes and they come in handy for this kind of jobs.
The electric toothbrush is gentle and fits perfect in all the hard to reach areas.
Now I have a wax toothbrush which I will be using for only waxing.

The electric part is in the bathroom again without this toothbrush. I like to brush with toothpaste instead of wax.
To be continued.

Other hobbies.

It's been a long time since I wrote something on my blog. Welcome to my new followers.

But first I want to congratulate our new King Willem Alexander and his Queen Maxima.
Say thanks to Princes Beatrix for all the years she represented the Dutch people all over the world.

As I wrote, my son is moved out so at the moment we're rearranging his bedroom.
That's a lot of work.
The ceiling needs to be replaced and better isolated. The walls and floor need to be restored.
Then we can start on the working area.

Gee from http://gees-place.blogspot.nl/ asked me whether I had other hobbies.
When I'm not able to work on the dollhouse I like to spent some time in my garden with my camera and take pictures of the flowers and birds.
While Frans is doing the hard work I just walk around the garden taking pictures of it.

Traveling is one also. I love countries in Europe that have a lot of history and lovely weather.

Hereby I show you some pictures from my garden that I shoot during summers.

Our robin. He's always around when we're in the garden.

During wintertime and spring his red breast is looking better then during summer.

A bumblebee looking for nectar.

A wren that was learning to fly. We had to help it a little bit....;-)

This plant shoot his seeds all through the garden. I love this flower because it's doing great for the camera but not for the gardener Frans.

Another hobbie. Bbq in the garden during summertime. Yummie.

Dragonfly

What a nice creature.

Bzzz our garden is filled with bumblebees.

My husband never promised me a rose garden.....

......but he made me a rose garden.....

After the rain there was the sun again.

I can not wait for the smell of the Cherry Brandy rose.

Budding clematis.

Just a few of my favorite pictures from our garden.
Until the bedroom is turned into my hobby space I keep on making pictures from my garden.
