Almost Easter and you should have some eggs for breakfast or brunch.

Because my husband has to fix the roof of the garden house he isn't able to cut veneer for the parquet floor.
So I'm putting stuff on my blog that I made some time ago. I had to practice and look what I still could make myself.
It's been a long time ago that I did these things like knitting, sewing, felting, crochet. But I still have the skills.
So then we decided to buy the doll house. I like it to make a lot of things myself. So I can fill up my days when I'm not able to leave the house.

So I made some eggs for breakfast or brunch. It's easy to make. You need Fimo clay in two or three colours.
I used white, yellow and brown.

I made a yellow stick and put white Fimo around the yellow stick.

After backing the clay you can slice it in small pieces.
This will be a flat egg piece.

Then I made a white egg and in the middle of that egg I 've put yellow Fimo clay. After backing you can slice the egg into four parts like on the picture.

This egg I started with a small yellow ball (the egg yolk) and put white clay around the yellow clay (egg white) and then a thin layer of brown clay (eggshell).
Backed the clay.

When the clay was backed I've cut the top of the egg with a sharp hobby knife. I've put a part of the egg on the Dutch rusk.
For the bread and Dutch rusk I have to practice a little longer.
It's almost Easter so there should be eggs in your doll house.

Wine bottle which I made some time ago.

I couldn't do anything today. I was lucky that we had the sun today in the Netherlands so I could enjoy the sun. But I'm having other projects which I didn't put in my blog. So now is the moment to show it.
This is what you need for a wine bottle.

Fimo clay and a pinpush.

40 minutes in a cup of water and the microwave on 1000 watt to bake the fimo clay.
This is the result.

Cushions and blanket for my Victorian bed self made.

Today I've finished the cushions and the blanket for the bed. I've cut cotton for the cushions.
5 cm. x 6 cm. and lace. I've sewed it together.

Then I've cut cotton 17 cm. x 15 cm. and sewed a hem all around.
The same lace I used as with  the cushions.

This is the result. Next is maybe to embroidery something on the sheet and to make bedspread and bed skirt.

Blanket that I have felted myself.

This is the result of my felting job.

I have glued a ribbon all around the blanket.
Next item I want to make are the cushions and the sheet with embroidery.

A day at Arnhem at my favorite store.

Today we went to Arnhem. I want veneer for the parquet flooring in the doll house. So we arrived at http://www.af.nl/. Wow all the different kinds of veneer they sell. It's a wonderful shop.
We bought the oak veneer for the parquet floor. We bought over 3 square meters for the whole doll house.
Now we have to slice pieces of 0,7 cm. to make a pattern.
I also bought all kinds of veneer for tables and cupboards. When I'm able make those things we'll see.

When I've used some of this material I'll put it on my blog.
It was a wonderful day and I've enjoyed every minute of it.

Tomorrow we go visit Arnhem.
http://www.af.nl/
I'm going to search veneer for the floors in my doll house.

Mattress for my bed 1:12 is ready.

The Mattress is ready and fits.
Now I'm going to felt a blanket.
Working on the parquet floor isn't possible because we have to go to Arnhem to get the Veneer.
The veneer I had isn't enough for the floor so meanwhile I make things for the bed.

Things you need for wet felting are:
soap
felt
bubblewrap
mosquito netting
towel
water.

Put pieces of felt on the netting.

One layer horizontal the next layer vertical.
I've put 5 layers because I didn't want to get a thick blanket.
Now sprayed some lukewarm water over the felt.
Then I washed my hands with the Sunlight soap and pushed the soap into the felt.

Now I make a roll with the netting and the the bubblewrap and at last...

the towel.
Now I must keep on rolling to get a felted blanket.
For a good instruction there is a video on my blog about felting which I found on YouTube.

Garden chair in chrochet.

When I visited the site from Petra http://www.poohbeers.eigenstart.nl/ I discovered another site with a workshop.
How to make a garden chair by crochet. You must have a little patience but the result is wonderful.

You need:
a chrochet hook 1,0 mm
thread for chrochet DMC number 20
wood glue

It's not ready yet because I've used the wrong paint. Now I'm thinking how to solve this problem because I've put a lot of time into the crochet. :-(
